The Narrows ZION – will we survive?

Will we survive The Narrows hike in Zion National Park? That was the question in our head throughout the hike! LOL.

So we set off as prepared as would could be, with a walking stick ($10) rented from Zion Outfitters store at the Zion Visitor’s Center, our water shoes (link below), light jacket and lunch, and enjoyed a beautiful 7.5 hour hike up the Virgin River in Utah. This hike is called The Narrows because it’s a slot canyon that gets more and more narrow. You need to check the weather before you do this hike and be weary of any flash flood warnings. We recommend staying inside Zion so you can get an early start to beat the crowds. It’s best to call the park to check if the shuttle service is running the day you visit. Do not wear light sandals for this hike, you will tear up your feet or slip and twist or break your ankle! I wouldn’t recommend this long hike for kids or to try to carry babies on your back, you’l probably slip and hurt yourself. And, there are no restrooms on the trail.

With great September weather, we endured about 3.5 hours of this ‘bottom up’ hiking trail, crossing countless times across the river, some parts waist deep, and you’ll need to watch through video to see if we survived! LOL. It’s definitely a bucket-list hike you’ll need to do at least once in your life to feel complete. If you can’t, well just watch our video! We filmed the whole way, but clipped the best parts for the video. Please let us know if you’ve hiked this one, leave us a comment and Subscribe to help our channel grow β™₯ thanks!
