Julian Farm and Orchard 🍎 Julian, CA (Flower Field Fun)

What a nice day at the Julian Farm and Orchard Flower Field! Julian is an official California Historical Landmark in San Diego County. Julian Farm and Orchard is located just an hour east of San Diego in Julian (San Diego County). Today they had Daffodils! So we cut Daffodils. This was after we spent a good part of the day hunting down the best apple pies in downtown Julian. Julian is famous for their Apple Days Festival. At the Julian Farm and Orchard, depending on the season, you can find Daffodils, Apples, Strawberries, Raspberries, Blackberries, Sunflowers, Pumpkins. And they also have a petting zoo and picnic areas too! You gotta check them out sometime.

Top of the World Hike ⛰️ Laguna Beach

What a wonderful day for a hike in sunny southern California! We’ve been trying to get to this hike in Laguna Beach for a while now. Today’s the day we do this hike! I would rate this trail moderate-difficult. Round-trip it’s about 2.4 miles and takes about 70 minutes to complete. The inclines are moderate, and some fairly steep. It’s about 860 feet above sea-level. At the top you can see 360 degrees, with views of Laguna and Catalina Island, and Saddleback Canyon on the opposite side. Great workout. Check it out. Take some water and a light jacket in case it’s windy. You can actually drive to the top if you’d like to just enjoy the view, but then you’d miss out on the exercise! haha. San Clemente California 🌊 Pier and Beach Walking Tour

What a beautiful Pier and Beach in San Clemente! One of our favorite happy hours is at Fishermans restaurant on the pier. On the left is Fishermans restaurant with a full dinner menu. On the right is Fishermans oyster & cocktails bar which has our favorite happy hour Mon-Fri . They have an spectacularly-priced dinner special for each day of the week, and drink specials too!

San Clemente is about half-way between Los Angeles and San Diego, in the southern-most part of Orange County. The Metrolink train station is just above the the boardwalk, so you can easily get to San Clemente from nearly anywhere!  A fairly good sized parking lot is just above the boardwalk too. The boardwalk is known as the San Clemente beach trail and runs 1 mile north and 1.3 miles south of the pier, with an awesome wooden bridge (part of the trail) on the north side.

Just before the pier is Fisherman’s Galley, if you prefer fast food over the restaurant.  At the end of the pier is a snack shop that also sells fast food, as well as small gifts.

It seems that every time we go to San Clemente, the water is usually calm.  It makes our walk relaxing and enjoyable. We usually walk to the end of the pier enjoying the views of surfers, waves, and sometimes we spot dolphins swimming around. On our way back we enjoy the views of the hillside and houses. A long time ago, the city required all buildings to have red tile roofs. But later the requirement changed to be Spanish style construction which is quite enjoyable to see among the houses and neighborhood around San Clemente. It’s easy to see them from the pier. Afterward walking the pier, we walk down to the beach to walk alongside the water for a while, enjoying the sunset.  Finally, walking under the pier to the other side just for fun.

We highly recommend visiting San Clemente Pier and Beach. Be sure to catch the happy hour at Fishermans restaurant to enjoy good food, drinks and ocean views at a great price.  Been here before?  Let us know what you liked best about it by leaving us a comment!

Thanks for watching. We can’t wait to see you in the next one!

The Narrows ZION – will we survive?

Will we survive The Narrows hike in Zion National Park? That was the question in our head throughout the hike! LOL.

So we set off as prepared as would could be, with a walking stick ($10) rented from Zion Outfitters store at the Zion Visitor’s Center, our water shoes (link below), light jacket and lunch, and enjoyed a beautiful 7.5 hour hike up the Virgin River in Utah. This hike is called The Narrows because it’s a slot canyon that gets more and more narrow. You need to check the weather before you do this hike and be weary of any flash flood warnings. We recommend staying inside Zion so you can get an early start to beat the crowds. It’s best to call the park to check if the shuttle service is running the day you visit. Do not wear light sandals for this hike, you will tear up your feet or slip and twist or break your ankle! I wouldn’t recommend this long hike for kids or to try to carry babies on your back, you’l probably slip and hurt yourself. And, there are no restrooms on the trail.

With great September weather, we endured about 3.5 hours of this ‘bottom up’ hiking trail, crossing countless times across the river, some parts waist deep, and you’ll need to watch through video to see if we survived! LOL. It’s definitely a bucket-list hike you’ll need to do at least once in your life to feel complete. If you can’t, well just watch our video! We filmed the whole way, but clipped the best parts for the video. Please let us know if you’ve hiked this one, leave us a comment and Subscribe to help our channel grow ♥ thanks!
